Parcel Packaging & Labelling Tips

To ensure your parcel(s) arrive safely and in one piece – and you receive your exchange or refund without issue – take extra care to package and label any returns correctly.

Packaging Your Parcel for Return

To make sure your items travel safely and securely through the DPD network, follow these simple guidelines:

• Use the original packaging if it’s still in good condition and can protect your items during delivery.
• If the original packaging isn’t available, choose strong, suitable packaging like sturdy cardboard to keep the contents safe.
• The items should fit snugly in the box, with enough space for at least 5 cm of padding for extra protection.
• Wrap the contents with bubble wrap, polystyrene chips, or crumpled newspaper to cushion them. Fill any empty spaces with more padding to prevent movement during transit.
• Once packed, seal the box with strong packing tape. Pay particular attention to the top and bottom flaps, and seal along any edges.

Labelling Your Parcel for Return

• If you’re using our Drop2Shop return service, you’re in luck! The shop attendant will label the parcel for you at the drop-off point.
• If you’re returning using any other method, be sure to clearly label your parcel:
  • Make sure there’s only one address visible on the box.
  • Include an eircode or postcode if available.
  • Include the consignee’s contact name and phone number.
  • Ensure the barcode and delivery address are not covered by tape or straps. Remember, the barcode routes the parcel!
  • If you’re reusing a box, remove all old labels and markings to avoid any confusion.
