Covid-19: Click here for latest service updates and delivery timelines

Covid-19 Updates

Due to a huge surge in parcel volumes travelling through our Network, delivery delays are being experienced in some areas. The Predict One Hour Delivery Window notification will be sent via SMS and/or email on the day of delivery.

Delivery Time Frame Updates

In most areas of the country, deliveries are taking place within the expected next-day time period. However, delays of more than three days are still occurring in some areas of Dublin North East and Dublin South West, Kildare, Meath and Limerick. There are still slight delays in Galway, Sligo and Cork but these are minimal at this stage.

We are doing our best to ensure that delivery is being managed as efficiently as possible in each of these locations. Please ensure that you let your own customers know that delays may be experienced and that they will receive their Predict One Hour Delivery Window Text and/or Email on the day of delivery.

We are doing everything possible to ensure that we can maintain our service while continuing to follow the advice issued by the HSE, WHO and the Department of Foreign Affairs to ensure the health and safety of our team members, our customers and the general public.

DPD plays a critical role in the Supply Chain operating all over Ireland. Every day we deliver urgent products to GP Surgeries, to Pharmacies and Hospitals. We deliver essentials to people working from home, or at home caring for loved ones. We will continue to provide collection and delivery services for our customers, according to the Government and HSE guidelines.

Fraudulent Calls, Texts and Emails

Please be extra vigilant during this period - we've been advised by the public that they have received communication purporting to be from DPD requesting credit card details in respect of payment for parcel delivery. Should an incident like this come to your attention, please report to the Gardaí. The Gardai have advised that this type of fraud is happening regularly.

Are you a Parcel Recipient?

DPD is acting on all advice provided by the HSE and Irish Government. As an Essential Service in supply chain and delivery, we are doing everything possible to ensure that we can maintain service, while prioritising the health and safety of our team members, our customers and the general public.

Monday 18th May saw the commencement of Phase One of the Government's Roadmap for reopening Ireland, with some small retail outlets starting to open their doors. We will continue to update you accordingly as new information becomes available to us. It is business as usual for DPD, however we do wish to inform you that delays are to be expected. Make sure that your customers watch out for their one hour delivery window text or email - this will go out to them on the day the parcel is on a DPD van for delivery.

Please check our Delivery Timeframe Updates in the section at the top of the page.

To mitigate risk of spread of Covid-19 to our own team members, our customers and members of the public, DPD is now operating a contactless delivery service.

Where the parcel recipient is present to receive delivery, the driver will retain possession of the scanner, will request the name of the signatory which he/she will key into the name field and will capture the words C19 in the signature field. The driver will not capture the signature of the recipient. Where "Safe Place" or "Letterbox" options are in place for the delivery, these instructions will be followed.

GPS coordinates are captured at the point where the parcel is scanned as delivered. This process may continue following Covid-19. We will continue to provide collection and delivery services for our customers, according to the Government and HSE guidelines.

To mitigate the risk of spread of the Covid-19 virus, DPD has ceased to allow collections from our depots for now.

An Update for our Parcel Wizard Customers:

If you had chosen one of our depots as your preferred collection point, we have updated your default Parcel Wizard Virtual Address Delivery Address to the address that you used when setting up your Parcel Wizard Account.

We ask you to please check that this address is correct by carrying out the following 4 steps;
  1. Log into dpdparcelwizard.ie or via the Parcel Wizard App, go to the Virtual Address Page
  2. Select 'My Virtual Address/My UK Virtual Address'
  3. Select 'My preferred PickUp Point is'
  4. Select 'View Details'

From here you can change your address to a home delivery or to an alternative PickUp Point by pressing on the link. Alternatively, you can choose to have your delivery go to one of the DPD PickUp Points - just select the most suitable one from the list.

Collections and Deliveries in the rest of Europe

As expected deliveries to some areas of mainland Europe are to be delayed.

Are you a DPD Shipper?

DPD is acting on all advice provided by the HSE and Irish Government. As an Essential Service in supply chain and delivery, we are doing everything possible to ensure that we can maintain service, while prioritising the health and safety of our team members, our customers and the general public.

Please take note of these process changes, made to ensure that we can continue to provide safe service to you and to your customers:

  1. DPD is now operating Contactless delivery. DPD has ceased passing the driver's scanner to the consignee to capture a proof of delivery signature. Instead, where the consignee is present to receive delivery, the driver will retain possession of the scanner, will request the name of the signatory which he/she will key into the name field and will capture the words C19 in the signature field. Driver will not capture the signature of the recipient. Where "Safe Place" or "Letterbox" options are in place for the delivery, these instructions will be followed. GPS co-ordinates are captured at the point where the parcel is scanned as delivered. DPD accepts no liability for loss or damage where this new C19 delivery process has been followed by our driver. This process applies to all deliveries within the DPD Network for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic. We will keep you updated as to when we revert to standard practice.
  2. Due to the volume of parcels travelling as a result of Covid-19, some deliveries are taking longer than usual. Make sure that your customers watch out for their one hour delivery window text or email - this will go out to them on the day the parcel is on a DPD van for delivery. Should we experience any delays, the one hour window text and email confirms the time that delivery will be attempted on that day.
  3. To minimise risk, we can no longer facilitate Collection from Depots. Please don't ship parcels for Collection at a DPD Depot. Delivery must be directly to the recipient.
  4. Do not dispatch goods for delivery to locations which are now closed (schools, universities, pubs, restaurants etc) - these will be returned directly to you. If you are shipping to a business premises that is only partially operating, please put a label on your parcel saying "OPEN FOR BUSINESS". Many businesses are closed completely, but we are aware that others are partially open and it can be difficult for our drivers to determine whether open or closed.
  5. Our Saturday delivery service has ceased until early May. We will review this at that time, based on the status of the Covid-19 crisis. This is to mitigate risk for our drivers and staff by reducing the working week in light of the current situation. GDP and Food Shippers - please ensure that you use our special Green Dot labels. Ask your depot for your supply.

Collection and Deliveries in the rest of Europe:

As expected, we are experiencing delays with deliveries and collections in mainland Europe

Please note that certain delivery and collection locations may become inaccessible if they go into lock-down - please ensure that you keep up to speed with information on these locations and request that your own customers keep you informed. Any deliveries going to these points will be returned to you.

Should your own business become affected by Covid-19, please contact us at this dedicated address – E: corona@dpd.ie
